About Membership - Welcome Licensed Engineers, Students, EIT's and Affiliates!
You can join the PEO in two different ways:
PEO is unusual in this regard. Our counterparts in many other states do not offer independent memberships. In those states, you must join the NSPE, at which time you automatically also become a member of your state's organization.
If you join the NSPE, you pay their fee structure and, if you live in Oregon, you automatically become a member of the PEO as well. In this case, you do NOT need to complete the PEO membership application presented below. A portion of your annual dues will be automatically forwarded from the NSPE to us each year.
If you elect to join only the PEO, you should complete, print and mail to us the application form presented here, with your check for our annual dues, which are $85.00 and based on a calendar year. You will receive an annual billing thereafter. Be sure to make your check payable to "PEO". Note that our dues are prorated, so, for example, if you join in July, you need only send $40.00, for the remaining months of the year.
If you join the NSPE, you pay their fee structure and are automatically also accorded full Membership in the PEO.
If you join only the PEO, your annual dues to us are distributed as follows:
Regardless of how you join, you will receive full Membership in the PEO, with all rights thereof. Your rights & benefits will include:
We voice our Members' opinions to Oregon's Legislature.
Our Membership services to you begin on approval of your application and receipt of full payment.
Contributions (or gifts), dues, and fees to PEO are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, they may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses.
During years in which Oregon's legislature is in session, a portion of your PEO dues is not deductible as ordinary and necessary business expense to the extent that PEO engages in lobbying.
To become a member of PEO (but not the NSPE), complete & mail our application with your check for our annual dues.
