Public Safety

 

Matters of Public Safety are the PEO's primary concern because our members, by virtue of their licensure, are bound by state law to consider it their first priority.

 

This is, after all, the central purpose of the nationwide program of licensure.

 

Licensure as a Professional Engineer is voluntary, and a prerequisite to membership in the PEO, so our members have demonstrated not only their engineering abilities but also their willingness to conduct themselves in an ethical, socially-responsible manner in the practice of engineering.

 

To that end, the PEO monitors State (and National) events, and legislative activity, to ensure that an engineering viewpoint is adequately represented in Oregon.
